Our Story

Founded in 2001, Greenway Golf was formed as a result of an amazing experience between Stevinson Ranch golf course owner and former touring golf professional George Kelley and Marc Logan, a successful golf course superintendent and agronomist from Australia. George and Marc first met during their mutual involvement with the development and construction of Mayacama Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design private club in Sonoma, California.
 
George’s golf course, Stevinson Ranch was about 5 years old at the time, had begun to develop considerable poa and thatch in the greens. As a result it was also costing considerablymore to maintain. Upon review of George’s course, Marc quickly dispelled the theory that poa on bent grass greens and thatch were inevitable. This meeting lead to George hiring Marc to consult with him at Stevinson Ranch whereby he introduced George to his Australian based maintenance practices.
 
The results were unlike any George had ever seen. Within a year the poa was eliminated and the course conditions were the best in the region while water, fertilizer, chemicals and labor expenses were all reduced. Stevinson Ranch has since been recognized by Golf World magazine as having the best turf conditions of any public course in America.
 
Realizing the tremendous impact Marc’s program could have on the golf industry, George suggested they form a golf course maintenance company. This successful business start up lead quickly to over 25 clients including the famed San Francisco Golf Club. Ken Campbell, the third principal, joined the company in 2006 to oversee operations and support the company’s growth.
 
Having successfully packaged this unique maintenance program, Greenway's services are now utilized by courses throughout the U.S., Bahamas, Mexico and Ireland.
